VBS:  Display will be up for May 2nd.  Registration will be May 2 – June 30.  Materials have been ordered.  PJ before she left, said she would sign for service projects for student helpers, this will be done.

Sunday School:

Children:  Sunday School Sunday is May 9th, both services

End of the year party being planned for June 6th.  Lisa Hohenshilt will be in charge of this event.  Eileen Saffron, Dianne Gilliken and Karen Jagiela will be there to help.  More information to follow.

We are in the process of looking at new curriculum for Kindergarten.  This group of teachers would like to go back to Bible stories which Akaloo does not provide.  Depending on teacher evaluations we may be looking at curriculum for the whole Sunday School.  Rich also mentioned that a good source of help is the Library at the Synod office.

Tadpoles finally arrived.  Kermit, Jumper, Harold the Hopper and M.J. Frog may be found in the education office.  The kids are really having fun looking in on them, and they are actually started to grow.

Senior High Discussion Group:  Rich is pleased that Nikki and Chris Moore and Abby Possinger have stepped up to help with this group.  They have already gone out for breakfast and have come up with a list of service and fun things to do.  Leader books have been purchased for those who want to use them.  The Group has also mentioned that they would like to participate in the worship service.

Adult Class:  Sue Sell is looking into curriculum for this class.  She held a “pick your brain class” to get help with ideas.  Herb and Judy Gifford along with Pastor Moore helped with this and have come up with ideas.  Sue stated that people have already offered to lead classes.

CAT class:  There are 2 students that are in jeopardy of not being confirmed.  Families are aware.

Karin made the changes to the security policy that were needed.  It will be submitted to staff support for review.

Communion class was taught by Denise Hoffman and Jackie Bucks, they had 13 students.

To get the children oriented to the use of our Library, the Parent and Me class will be taking the kids and parents there to orient them to what it has to offer.  Next year during Sunday School we will be doing classroom orientations so that we can get more people to use it.  Karin was asked to make up a schedule and be in charge of this orientation.

Chris Pirrotta resigned from the committee due to other commitments to church council, other church projects and work.

Other up coming dates:

June 8th – picnic/meeting at Cindy and Ron Pugh’s.  Committee members and their families, including puppies.  Swimming, food and fun.  6:30PM

September 12th – Rally Day

September 19th – Bible Sunday
