Blessing of the Animals 2010
Aug 18th
Realizing the important role pets play in people’s lives, Union Lutheran Church has scheduled a special service to honor and celebrate all creatures of God’s creation and the special relationships we share with them. A blessing of animals witnesses to the world God’s love and the Church’s concern for creation. As we recognize our mutual interdependence with God’s creatures, the Church’s witness of stewardship is strengthened.
The Blessing of the Animals will be held, weather permitting, in the outdoor worship area on Sunday, October 3, 2010 – 4pm. If the day is rainy, the service will be held in the Family Life Center.
All animals are welcome provided they are under physical control (leash, harness, bridle, or crate) and are safe to be around others. If your pet is unable to be present, and article representing them (picture, collar, toy, halter, etc.) will be blessed on their behalf.
Please bring a chair for your comfort.

Learn about Stephen’s Ministry
Jul 6th
Stephens Ministry is a complete system for training and organizing lay people to provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around your congregation. It provides congregations with the structure, training, and resources to set up and administer a complete system for lay caring ministry (called Stephen Ministry) in the congregation for the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge.
How can I get involved? On Thursday, July 22nd at 7:00 PM in Room 201 we are pleased to have Pastor Erika Wesch from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Doylestown with us for an informal session. St. Paul’s currently uses the Stephens Ministry program successfully and Pastor Wesch will be able to share their experiences and answer any questions you may have. Again, there is no commitment required at this point. If you are interested in learning more about Stephens Ministry, please plan to attend this meeting. Please RSVP to the church office by emailing us at office@unionlutheranchurch.org or by calling us at 610-767-6884.

Has God touched your life in a special way?
Jul 6th
GOD’s Walk With Us – Has God touched your life in a special way? Would you like to share it with the congregation? Then G.O.D.’s Team is looking for you. We are looking for people to submit a script about how God affected your life. This would be a format about 1-2 minutes that would eventually be shared verbally from the lectern (ambo) at both services during announcements. Script should be submitted to the office for review by G.O.D.’s Team and scheduling. We would like to have these personal witnesses done quarterly and also put on the ULC website for others to share as well.
