Worship Nursery is staffed during the 10:45 AM Worship Service. You may bring your child(ren) to the Nursery before the service starts or any time during the service. Our staff will lead your children in age appropriate stories and crafts.

Dinner and a Movie: We purchased a brand new huge inflatable movie screen for our indoor and outdoor movie nights, and we are inviting everyone to come and check it out with us. Join us today for Dinner and a Movie in the FLC. We ask that everyone bring a covered dish to share. We will supply the drinks and popcorn. We will start with dinner and fellowship at 5:00 PM followed by the movie at approx. 6:00 PM. The movie will be the award winning “Life of Pi”. This is a story about the son of a zookeeper who survives a shipwreck by stowing away on a life boat with man animals including a Bengal tiger. Bring your chairs, blankets, friends and neighbors and join us for this fun filled night.

Hot Cocoa mix for 20% off; just $4.00! The milk is already in the mix – simply add hot water to make a delicious cup. A favorite of adults and children alike! Stop at the Fair Trade Cart today.

We need your help locating people for our next Confirmation Class Reunion. If you have any information on Diahn Hahn or Richard Hertzog, please contact the church office.

Mother/Daughter Dinner – On Saturday, May 11th from 5:00-7:00 PM, (doors open at 4:30 PM), all ladies of the congregation (and their mothers/daughters) are invited to join The Journeymen in the ULC Family Life Center for a “Bash at the Boayou” Dinner and Entertainment Adventure! It’s sure to be a great night of food, fellowship and fun, so get your tickets early. Due to space limitations, only 200 tickets will be sold. Come join us for a night out where the men do the cooking and cleaning for you! Tickets will be on sale in the Gathering Space hallway before and after both services on Sundays April 28 and May 5. They may also be purchased in person in the church office during regular business hours from Monday April 22, until sold out. Unfortunately, due to high demand, tickets may only be purchased in person. No tickets will be reserved. The cost is $7.00, but if any man in your life helps out at the dinner, you will receive a $2 Rebate. (One rebate per ticket)!!! Hope to see you there!

Stephen Ministry - Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. (1 Peter 4:10) Each Stephen Minister has their own gifts and personality. Each of our Stephen Ministers is doing an outstanding job in this ministry they have chosen. We thank all who have shown an interest in our work. To those who have picked up an application, please turn them in by April 30. If anyone has questions about our ministry please call: Joan Fredericks-610-217-9400 or Irene Folk-484-241-8386

Parish Nurses’ Hours – The parish nurses are in the office today during the Christian Education time slot and after the 10:45 AM Worship Service. Join them in room 208 for a blood pressure screening. Browse through the educational information. Look at the two periodicals from the Mayo Clinic – Mayo Clinic Women’s Health Source and Mayo Clinic Health Letter. These publications offer the most current information on many topics. The parish nurse is available to assist you with any health issue at this time. The parish nurse is available anytime by contacting the church office.

“the Kinder Garten” The children of ULC have begun a children’s garden (“the Kinder Garten”, German for Children’s Garden). This purpose of this mission project will be to supply all the produce from the garden to the Northern Lehigh Food Bank Community. The garden will be an excellent opportunity for mission, education and fellowship for all the children of ULC. For more information or if you would like to help with this mission project, contact Donna Remaly at 610-972-9020 or email brvhrt61@gmail.com. Follow us on Facebook at the group “the Kinder Garten”

Kinder Garten – The Sunday School has been asked to participate in this project, located behind the church. They will be making the scarecrow. The following items are needed: straw hat, burlap, plaid shirt, pair of jeans, and hay or straw. If you can donate any of these items, please call Cindy Pugh at 610-776-0451 or the church office.

Rejoicing Spirits Worship Service will be held April 28, at 9:30 AM at ULC. The informal service is directed to people with young children, people with developmental disabilities, etc. We’ve designed an adapted worship service to engage these individuals, along with their caregivers, families and other supportive members in the community. We have created an environment that is accepting and welcoming to all children of God. The service includes lots of music and joyous singing; brief, meaningful messages; love-filled community; fellowship opportunities; light refreshments. Interaction and free expression are welcome during Rejoicing Spirits worship services. We have a “no shushing” policy. Everyone in the community is welcome and all faiths are welcome.

Rejoicing Spirits Worship Service at KidsPeace – This service will be held April 20 at 1:30 PM. We will be meeting in the ULC Parking Lot at 1:00 PM and carpooling to KidsPeace. Please join us as we take this ministry out into the community.

The Book Club’s next selection is Proof of Heaven, a neurosurgeon’s journey into the afterlife, by Eben Alexander, MD. Dr. Alexander never believed that near-death experiences were real until he had one. During a 7 day coma he journeyed beyond our world encountering an angelic being who guided him into the deepest realms of super-physical existence. Now he believes that true health can be achieved only when we realize that God and the soul are real. Death is not the end of personal existence but only a transition. Join us on Sunday, May 19 @ 9:15 AM to share your thoughts and ideas about this book.

The 5th Annual Walk for Hunger will take place on Sunday, May 5th at the Northern Lehigh Food Bank in Emerald. Registration will begin at 1:45 PM and the walk will start at 2:00 PM. Rain or Shine. We will be walking on a portion of the Slatington Rails to Trails located behind the food bank. You can pick up your registration forms in the grocery cart located in the narthex or online at our church website, www.ulclv.org. Please come out and support this important mission. If you are unable to walk you can help by being a business sponsor or by donating to someone else who will be walking. Any questions please call Patty Hersh at 610-391-9407.

Enjoy teaching?…volunteer to be a Station Leader, like to work with small groups of children?…, sign up to be a Crew Leader. Like technology…we could use your assistance at our opening and closing programs! We also need help at “The King’s Kitchen” to prepare those tasty snacks! Please note that due to our insurance policy you need to be a member of the church for six months or a “friend of the church” for a year to work directly with the children. If not, we can still use your help! Creative?…volunteer for the decorating committee or help build the set. Organization your forte?…..there are lots of administrative tasks during the week of VBS and before!

Staff Training Session: Sunday, July 14th – 11:15am to 1pm

If volunteering for VBS, it is extremely important that you attend this informative session. Lunch will be provided!

Remember, “Many hands make light work.” Please prayerfully consider joining us!
